History/Background of Partnership

We have collaborated with the School of Pharmacy at Addis Ababa University to support graduate training (MSc and PhD) for pharmacists in the area of Social Pharmacy for over 10 years.

Success to Date

University of Toronto faculty members teach graduate level courses at AAU normally 1-2 times per year.  In addition, senior PhD students from Addis Ababa University spend 1-3 months at the University of Toronto as International Visiting Graduate Students to engage in graduate courses, graduate seminars and support the development of their PhD research.

Highlights

  • TAAAC-Pharmacy has been involved in graduate training since 2008, both at the masters and doctoral level.  To date, 5 PhD candidates are completing their dissertations.
  • The Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy at UofT has hosted several AAU Pharmacy students as part of their doctoral research training.
